The Beginning of Something
Unravelling the tangled mess of thoughts and ideas so we can begin...
)) The Beginning of Something ((
Sometimes there is so much going on in my system - so many ideas, thoughts, emotions, stories, distractions, projects, things to tend to, that I have found it impossible to catch just one thread to share here.
It feels like a tangled mess of wool and twine, all the colours and textures knotted in and around one another and some tired but determined part of my mind trying to make sense of it all.
I come to the internet for some inspiration and just end up more entwined in what other people say, and questions of do I agree, and should I say if I do or don’t.
All that happens from this place is that I gather up the tangled ball and stuff it away for another day. I don’t post. I don’t speak and my inner critic has a field day in there, like a frenzied cat with the tangled ball and all the silence.
It is my view that the best teachers will not tell you where to start, which thread to pull, what to weave for others delight.
They will sit aside you reminding you that you already know.
Perhaps they will remind you that a little slowing down might help, a reminder to create some space with as much love as you have access to. Some space in which you can sit and deliberately be quiet and remember how to be with all the things that are going on in your mind, but not be taken down by them.
My mind is very clever. She will always find a reason or a justification for my actions. But my deeper knowing can not be fooled so easily. She has a strong, steady, clear access to the (oftentimes highly inconvenient) truth.
That some of what’s going on here is a fear of being judged for having and expressing a view. For having the audacity to come up and out with something that has been safely tucked away in my inner world.
Let’s start here shall we.
Gently pulling on this thread.
And see where it leads…
It’s good to be back
